An aldmer invented the first set of playing cards.

Chimeri playing cards used the Daedric Princes as faces, with the Good Daedra as the highest rank, and have only three suits, rather than the traditional four, with a single joker trump represented by Veloth. Dunmeri playing cards replaced the Princes with the Tribunal and ancestor-Saints, and added a second joker trump represented by Nerevar's bonewalker. Some dunmeri card sets designed around the House of Troubles have four suits, and four jokers based on the Good Daedra and Veloth's Padomaic aspect.

Bosmeri cards are made of stiff-backed parchment, and Valenwood often releases commemorative Handfasting decks featuring the current Silvenar and Green Lady on the cards' back.
